Reflections, a message of thanks, and a wellbeing gift for the year ahead

As the year draws to a close, the Swiss Benevolent Society would like to take a moment to pause, reflect, and express sincere gratitude to our members, clients, friends, and donors.

The end-of-year season offers a natural opportunity to look back on what we have achieved together, to acknowledge the challenges faced by many within our community, and to appreciate the trust and support that allows our charity to continue its work for Swiss nationals living in the UK — a mission we have upheld since 1703.

Below, we are pleased to share a seasonal message from our Chair, Suzanne Egloff, offering reflections on the year, heartfelt thanks, and warm wishes for the months ahead.

Dear Members, Clients, Friends, and Donors of Swiss Benevolent Society,

On behalf of the Swiss Benevolent Society’s Welfare Office, Board of Trustees and Advisers, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family as we approach the end of year holiday season. We hope this special time of the year may allow for moments to reflect and restore, and that it may be filled with comfort and happiness.

We are delighted to announce a special Swiss gift of appreciation for your ongoing involvement and trust. It is your steadfast support, enthusiasm, and commitment to our shared mission that enables us to continue making a meaningful difference to improve the lives of Swiss individuals residing in the UK, facing life challenges through our charitable efforts, dating back to 1703.

This year, discover your complimentary gift: A custom designed Swiss Benevolent Society Wellbeing Calendar full of visually engaging Swiss landscapes, as well as Swiss and UK key holidays. This SBS calendar has been thoughtfully curated by our team to provide inspiration throughout the year, offering monthly prompts, motivational quotes, and practical tips to support our community’s physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

Our hope is that this gift will serve as a source of positivity and encouragement in your daily life and as a reminder of our collective dedication to the values of wellbeing, care and compassion. Whether you are setting goals, seeking calm, or finding balance, both the calendar and the Swiss Benevolent Society’s Welfare Office offer guidance and support.

This year, we have achieved so much together with our SBS Welfare Office, including:

Empowering individuals through wellbeing guidance & coaching
Providing advice or signposts to those in need
Creating community events that foster connection,  friendships and healing
Offering means-tested financial aid, including educational grants

Thank you once again for your partnership, trust, and belief in our charity’s vision. Together with your help we continue to build a healthier and happier future for our Swiss Compatriots. May this holiday season bring you and your loved ones peace, good health, strength, and joy.

With sincere gratitude, care and best wishes,

Suzanne Egloff
Chairman

About the Swiss Benevolent Society

The Swiss Benevolent Society exists to support Swiss nationals in the UK through times of change, challenge, and transition. Our work is grounded in dignity, compassion, and the belief in self-reliance — offering practical help while empowering individuals and families to regain stability and confidence. If you or someone you know may need support, you can learn more about how we help and how to get in touch through our Welfare Office. If you share our values and would like to be part of our community, we welcome you to become a member and stay connected with our work. And if you are able, donations — of any size — help us continue providing vital assistance; every contribution goes directly back into our welfare programmes.
