Welcoming Our New Welfare Officer, Lily

Wednesday, March 25th, 2026

My name is Lily, and I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Welfare Officer for the Swiss Benevolent Society.

I am a young mother with a British-Peruvian background and a longstanding connection to Switzerland through my grandmother, a former Red Cross nurse based in Geneva. I spent my earliest years living in Switzerland, and I continue to visit regularly to see my family – while, of course, stocking up on chocolate!

Over the years, I have developed a deep appreciation for Swiss culture, and I am excited to foster meaningful connections within the community through a range of events we can all look forward to, including:

  • Coffee & Connect gatherings
  • Walk & Talk groups
  • Mindfulness and wellbeing programmes
  • Bringing Swiss celebrations to life here in the UK

My focus in this role is on support, empowerment, and connection. I want to help members feel understood and valued, while creating opportunities that bring the community together.

Alongside this role, I bring experience in:

  • Integrative counselling (MBACP)
  • Teaching and serving as Deputy at a counselling academy
  • Volunteering as Secretary for the Anglo-Peruvian Society

These experiences have shaped my commitment to providing an empathetic and structured space where wellbeing is tailored to individual needs and the richness of diverse cultures is celebrated.

Outside of work, I enjoy walks around Hampstead Heath, swimming and visiting London’s art galleries.

I very much look forward to meeting members, sharing experiences, and supporting the important work of the Swiss Benevolent Society.

Warm regards,
Lily
